This semester-long project was created as a part of Dr. Craig MacDonald’s Information Architecture/Interaction Design class. It is a structural and visual redesign of the website for the New York Transit Museum (NYTM), focusing on iterative user-based research and design techniques.

The process included creating a content inventory and site map, evaluating similar sites through competitive review, user group research and testing, and both paper and digital prototyping. The team evaluated the content presented on the current NYTM website, the types of users interested in using the site, and the needs of those users as they interacted with the site’s layout and content.

This process culminated in the creation of a interactive digital prototype for the redesign of the NYTM website. The prototype is available at http://bit.ly/mtateam, and a fuller description of the research and design process is available at http://mtateam.wordpress.com
