This presentation will consider a few trends in information economics by first defining the information economy and addressing how the inputs and outputs of knowledge industries are measured. Discussion will then move to how knowledge spillovers affect innovation in the information economy. Finally, an alternative metric for measuring productivity in an increasingly information-based economy will be evaluated.
