The title of this visualization is the Agricultural Economics of Lebensraum; Beyond Good and Evil. Lebensraum is German for living space, and agriculture was a mainstay for its implementation. German patriotism made Germany strive to be self-sustainable, this was impossible with its lack of arable land. It gave rise for the idea of colonization, which was impossible by sea, which rose the question of expansion in Europe.
