Chapbooks–short, ephemeral volumes of poetry–are sparse in many libraries. This presentation details my process for creating a call number system for Poets House’s 13,000 chapbooks. Through a survey of peer institution classification and overview of my MARCEdit workflow, I explore key technical and epistemological considerations for classifying specialized collections.
