Mentorship can be a key part of many senior roles, and knowing how to explain what you know in understandable ways, and how to guide people through their own questions and confusions, is an invaluable skill. We’ll look back at a year in tutoring to see what lessons we’ve learnt in applying this skill, and what we can take with us moving forward.

Tk Cram
Kia ora - greetings, my name is Tk. I’m finishing up my Master's in Data Analytics and Visualization at Pratt Institute (graduating in May 2023) and am currently on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities. Through my studies, I have turned over 1 million rows of bird sighting data into a compelling visualization, created a Dungeons and Dragons style web application using Python and JavaScript, and wrote a research paper reviewing the tensions and potential resolutions between Indigenous Data Sovereignty and the Open Data movements. I have also helped over 75 students with their coursework in my role as the tech tutor, and have chatted with prospective students interested in hearing more about the program. In my spare time, you can find me taking my dog, Pascal, on walks through the park, hanging from the ceiling in a circus class, or playing too many hours of Civ VI. I’m deeply curious, always eager to learn, and persistent when it comes to solving problems. I'm skilled in analyzing large data sets, implementing efficient queries, and soaring through the air on a flying trapeze! I'm always looking to grow my personal and professional network, so feel free to connect via LinkedIn or check out my website at https://tkcram.com
