What should a print reference collection do in an era of digital-first research? As a MoMA Library Fellow, I conducted physical audits, researcher interviews, and comparative fieldwork at the Frick to examine MoMA’s reference section and propose a framework prioritizing uniqueness, serendipitous discovery, and hybrid access.
