Our poster details the history of the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, a museum dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing queer art and artists. We also highlight how these pieces of art are displayed in their digital collection online, from the elements that are highlighted such as size and description, to the use of alt text to help describe the look of a piece of art for the visually impaired. The poster includes a broad look at the project our class, Museum Information Management, spent half the semester working on, the importance of alt text, and examples of how to write alt text from the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art’s style guide.
