My 2023-24 Brooklyn Public Library Young Adult and Children’s Services Fellowship allowed me to explore how young people access nonfiction titles. At the library, I examined the circulation statistics regarding fiction and nonfiction titles for young library users and compare those to adult users. This presentation reflects on those findings. In the presentation, I consider the ways that librarians and educators can inculcate stronger non-fiction habits and collections for younger readers.
