Created through the NYARC Web Archiving Fellowship at the Frick, this project seeks to bridge the gap between the creation and use of web archives through an instruction session and resource guide. The project’s audience is art historians, aligning both with NYARC’s collection and my personal interests.
The instruction session can be found below. It was inspired by conversations taking place within the web archiving community about the limited use that most collections have seen. At the same time, it also draws from larger discussions within art librarianship around digital resources as increasingly authoritative and accessible sources for information about art.
I also created a resource guide which includes a long list of art-related web archives. The entirety of my project can be found at https://tinyurl.com/wa4ah.
