This Grant Proposal was written as the final project  for the Film and Media Collections course. The grant proposal is to establish the long term preservation of, and access to, films made by the British-American Tobacco Company (BAT) in early 20th century China. By employing aggressive advertising campaigns, and even more aggressive tactics against local rivals, BAT had placed itself at the forefront of the tobacco industry in Republican-era China. To cement its position, it opened a film department and began producing its own feature-length films. After anti-imperialist protests spread across China in 1925, BAT was forced to close its film department and none of its films are known to have survived to the present day. The grant proposal includes a cover letter, summary and statement of purpose, budget, staffing and project overview timeline.
