About the course

INFO 658 Information Visualization is a graduate-level introduction to visualization offered in the School of Information at Pratt Institute. The course combines lecture, lab, and review. By the end of the course, students are able to:

  • critically discuss information visualizations in light of current research and practice
  • make reasonable design choices in the context of various tasks, communications goals, and constraints of data and technology
  • transform data into meaningful and effective visualizations using current tools

The course is required for students in the MS in Data Analytics & Visualization program and elective for other students in the school.

The course is taught by Associate Professor Chris Alen Sula.
