While our primary goal was to envision a pedagogical tool for fostering the exploration of historic events, we ourselves had moments of discovery when working with the example content data. This presentation will introduce the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire; describe the preliminary event model included in the linked open data educational framework; display an instantiation of data related to the fire; and explain the process of the creation of Wikidata URIs (Uniform Resource Identifiers) for the 146 victims of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, many of whom were young immigrant women. This presentation will also feature ephemera from the 2011 \u201cTriangle Fire Letters Project\u201d art project by Anthony Giacchino.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This presentation will introduce the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911 in relation to modeling historic events and underrepresented stories as linked data.
