Branching off my interest in the intersection of studio practice and information science, I realized a relational database that would serve the painting practice of my art studio. The project was approached in three phases including modeling, implementation, and querying.<\/p>\n<p>I established four principles to approach the realization of my database.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Data tells a story and its modeling shapes a narrative.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced this way, a database could be an atomic novel or journal.<\/li>\n<li>Data is a medium.<\/li>\n<li>A database is an architecture of things and thoughts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/studentwork.prattsi.org\/infoshow\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/InfoShow18_studioDatabase.pdf\">InfoShow18_studioDatabase<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Database Development and Design course culminated in the design and implementation of a relational database of my own invention.
