The set of elements are used for describing and cataloging of a wide variety of information sources, including electronic,\u00a0which would not as easily be described with conventional library standards. Since the 1990&#8217;s, there has been a rapid increase of new such\u00a0resources to be cataloged, including digital images and text, audio and video files, websites and webpages, spreadsheets and computer files.
