And what shaped the art they&#8217;re looking at? As a MoMA Digital Fellow, I was drawn to the discovery aspect of art, and that curiosity shaped two projects at different scales. One brings discovery to the museum floor, using itinerary and digest cards built on MoMA&#8217;s own search to surface personalized recommendations that help visitors find their way through the collection. The other zooms into a single artist&#8217;s lifetime of discovery: an interactive experience tracing what inspired Monet&#8217;s Water Lilies series, from Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints to his garden at Giverny, and how that work went on to inspire abstract expressionists like Rothko and Pollock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How do we help people experience art today?
