Description:
This project was undertaken in my third semester, with the collaboration of two other classmates. We were tasked with creating a Google Studios dashboard which tracked key performance metrics for the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya’s official website, in order to recommend changes that might improve user experience and increase online traffic. The dashboard linked to their online statistics is no longer accessible, but our evaluation report is available for download.

My Role:
In working with my teammates, we all helped to choose and modify the appropriate dashboard functions in order to properly assess the strengths and weaknesses of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya’s website. Analyzing the data, we met regularly to discuss our findings and create an informative evaluation report with practical recommendations. My duties for the report included its Executive Summary and Conclusion, along with general proofreading and editing.
Methods:
Our team was afforded a great deal of class time with which to work as a group and develop our approach to the evaluation. Our instructor for the course, Assistant Professor Elena Villaespesa, PhD, provided guidance and advice when needed while we built out our custom Google Studios dashboard, and was a great facilitator for communications with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya’s staff.
Rationale:
This project depended heavily on the effective selection and employment of digital technologies to enhance museum and cultural heritage services that inform and engage diverse communities. For this reason, I believe my work as part of this talented team demonstrates well the Digital Technology and Tools Student Learning Outcome.
