It is a computer language used to write computer programs.<br \/>\nHTML can be useful for digital humanists for connecting parts of websites that have been otherwise digitized.<\/p>\n<p>One starts the html document by writing<br \/>\n&lt;html&gt;<br \/>\nAnd<br \/>\n&lt;\/html&gt;<br \/>\nThen within these one types<br \/>\n&lt;head&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/head&gt;<br \/>\nFor the head section.<br \/>\nFor the body one types<br \/>\n&lt;body&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/body&gt;<br \/>\nThen within the head section one puts the title<br \/>\n&lt;title&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/title&gt;<br \/>\nAnd one types one&#8217;s title between these two: say, Interesting Info About Jane Austen&#8217;s Pride and Prejudice. The whole thing looks like this:<br \/>\n&lt;html&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;head&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;title&gt; Interesting Info About Jane Austen&#8217;s Pride and Prejudice &lt;\/title&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/head&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;body&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/body&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/html&gt;<br \/>\nIn the body, one has section headers.<br \/>\n&lt;h1&gt; Darcy &lt;\/h1&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h2&gt; Elizabeth &lt;\/h2&gt;<br \/>\nThen one adds paragraphs with the symbol &#8220;p.&#8221;<br \/>\n&lt;h1&gt; Darcy &lt;\/h1&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;p&gt; Darcy is a difficult character. &lt;\/p&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h2&gt; Elizabeth &lt;\/h2&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;p&gt; Elizabeth has a lot of wit. &lt;\/p&gt;<br \/>\nBolding is indicated by<br \/>\n&lt;b&gt; &lt;\/b&gt;<br \/>\nAnd italics by<br \/>\n&lt;i&gt; &lt;\/i&gt;<br \/>\nFor instance<br \/>\n&lt;h1&gt; Darcy &lt;\/h1&gt; is made bold by<br \/>\n&lt;h1&gt; &lt;b&gt; Darcy &lt;\/b&gt; &lt;\/h1&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h2&gt; Elizabeth &lt;\/h2&gt; is made italic by<br \/>\n&lt;h2&gt; &lt;i&gt; Elizabeth &lt;\/i&gt; &lt;\/h2&gt;<br \/>\nIf one wants to make an ordered list for instance of other books by Jane Austen one types<br \/>\n&lt;h3&gt; Some Other Books by Jane Austen &lt;\/h3&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;ol&gt;<br \/>\nAnd<br \/>\n&lt;\/ol&gt;<br \/>\nAnd between these one lists components<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Sense and Sensibility &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Persuasion &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Mansfield Park &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\nThe default will number the items on the list with Arabic numerals so that it is a numbered list.<br \/>\nAlternatively, one can use the same entries in an unordered list<br \/>\n&lt;ul&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Sense and Sensibility &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Persuasion &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Mansfield Park &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/ul&gt;<br \/>\nThe default will put round bullets on each of the entries of the list.<br \/>\nThe whole program looks like this:<br \/>\n&lt;html&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;head&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;title&gt; Interesting Info About Jane Austen&#8217;s Pride and Prejudice &lt;\/title&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/head&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;body&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h1&gt; &lt;b&gt; Darcy &lt;\/b&gt; &lt;\/h1&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;p&gt; Darcy is a difficult character. &lt;\/p&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h2&gt; &lt;i&gt; Elizabeth &lt;\/i&gt; &lt;\/h2&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;p&gt; Elizabeth has a lot of wit. &lt;\/p&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;h3&gt; Some Other Books by Jane Austen &lt;\/h3&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;ol&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Sense and Sensibility &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Persuasion &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Mansfield Park &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/ol&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;ul&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Sense and Sensibility &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Persuasion &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;li&gt; Mansfield Park &lt;\/li&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/ul&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/body&gt;<br \/>\n&lt;\/html&gt;<\/p>\n<p>Source used:<br \/>\nCastro, E.
