Mark Daly, Houda El Mimouni, and Meredith Mann will discuss the creation of the Dancers on Dance: Oral Histories of Ballet digital archive (http://dancersondance.prattsils.org).  A product of two semesters of Projects in Digital Archives, this website contains digitized audio interviews from the late 1970s with ballet greats, including Tanaquil Le Clercq, Peter Martins, and Moira Shearer. These dancers were interviewed by London-based dance critic Barbara Newman, and the analog audio material was digitally preserved in class.  For copyright reasons, a clip from each interview is publicly available through the website’s browsable and searchable Omeka interface, with Dublin Core metadata elements added to improve discoverability.
